Choosing Penny Web Hosting

Choosing Penny Web Hosting

Many people heard saying “Penny-wise and Dollar-foolish”?

Choosing cheapest web hosting is not a good deal. If the user will only consider the money factor then he will have to regret later on as he will not get all the required facilities and the package he has chosen will then prove havoc.

If any user launches his website earlier in the “dark ages” of 1997 at that time he was charged $150 per month for hosting and data transfer charges. Then his web host keeps a close eye like an eagle over the number of files he uploads and always sends their heavily built invoices earlier with each passing month.

This is the claim not by just one person but by many people. Then suddenly a whole industry of “bargain” web hosts sprang up all over the web.

At that time cheap web hosting providers grows very rapidly as users welcome them very cheerfully. Now one can easily get the hosting facility by just spending $4.95 per month, as against $150 per month that he was paying for the same service earlier.

Just 5 bucks per month sounds really very interesting, until one realizes the amount of data transfer (number of page views) and bandwidth (the amount of data transfer his host allows in a 24 hour period) he gets for that cheap price harshly confines his capacity to do business.

This recognition – As soon as one recognized this fact as well as after understanding how data transfer and bandwidth gets calculated, one tends to recognize the disadvantages that he was suffering due to cheap price.

If any user exceeds the bandwidth limit allotted, then his bargain host will just shut down his site without any warning or else will send a huge bill.

Later on the webmasters who are truly professional realize that they’ve made a mistake by selecting a cheap host as their site suddenly gets shut down in the middle of a big promotion because of huge traffic. At that moment as one’s business is totally dependant on web site it seems like as if his whole business stops moving.

There are some cheap hosts providing good service, but one has to take utmost care and caution especially in the matter of bandwidth as it effects a lot afterwards when one’s business grows.

By just paying $24.95 per month one can get to host up to six independent websites with a single account. One gets unlimited data storage, unlimited email and a variety of other higher end services, but their bandwidth policy seems really hard to understand. So one should think again while hosting a bargain web host.

http://www.webhostingpanda.com/ is recommended. It has a very clear hosting plans feature, and its filter function is very easy to use and save you a lot of time.

Windows and Linux often use two different web server applications. Windows sites use the Windows IIS server, while nearly all Linux sites use Apache.

Linux sites focus on PHP, Perl and other open-source script languages for server side scripting. Windows-based sites use ,NET and ASP technologies. They might also offer support for PHP.

Linux sites offer MySQL as the database for backend content storage. Windows sites will probably offer SQL Server, though some offer the Windows versions of MySQL as well.

There shouldn't be any difference between the two if you use strict web standards in your HTML. However, you need to be aware of the fact that, since Dreamweaver is a Windows-only product, it may insert some non-standard things into your HTML. Frontpage also does this.

As long as you stick to accepted web standards and don't use any Windows-centric stuff in your site, you should have no problems with either one.

winninghosting.com is great. They are barebones like google was. They just focus on great service and have a super helpful staff. They know how to keep their costs way down but still have all the speed and great features you need so I always go with them and am always very pleased.

    Hi galaxyangel_mint,

The criteria you mentioned seem to apply only to
    reliable paid hosting.

I don't know why you insist on free hosting service
because from the business point of view, they
don't provide reliable server to run your website,
even though you upgrade to become their paid users
    later on.

When you face an urgent matter, they can't help
you instantly since they only provide email support.

But if you're building a personal website just to
share with your closed friends and family and not
using it as a business platform, then that probably
    justifies your choice.

I personally would not recommend any free web hosting
service for my clients who run businesses because
they really stinks. I've used several of them when
I first started out, but they failed me.

Again, if you just want to build a non-profitable
website, any free hosting service will do the trick.
But if you intend to go into business, then I would
suggest you to go get a reliable paid hosting service
which is easy to use, navigate, has efficient web
tools and has faster loading time, as per your expectation.

You might want to refer to the website below which
I found pretty useful and helpful for those who
wanted to know which web hosting service works best
    for them.

    Best of luck!

    Wisely

godaddy claims to have good prices but I went with 1&1 for the hosting and domain deal.
